The Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) Subsystems and CoreSim Team is made up of enthusiastic and talented individuals that design and produce the hardware, algorithms, and software required to solve the challenging problems of controlling spacecraft systems in a harsh, zero-g environment. This position reports to the GN&C Manager within the GN&C Talent Center organization. The role specifically is for an experienced GN&C analyst to support multiple satellite buses including, but not limited to, the LM400 and LM2100 satellite series. The candidate should be experienced in GN&C subsystem architecture and performing dynamics and controls system design/optimization and analysis tasks using MATLAB/Simulink tools. The candidate should also be experienced in developing and verifying performance of simulation models in simulation environments which include MATLAB/ Simulink and C++. Having been through the entire life cycle of a space program from Requirements through Integration & Test and Verification is a plus. Also, mission operations experience is desired.

This position will require the ability to obtain and maintain an DoD security clearance, hence being a U.S. Citizen is required.

Basic Qualifications:

- BS Degree in Aerospace Engineering or related discipline

- Possess general domain experience in spacecraft controller design and optimization.

- Experience in developing and verifying performance of simulation models in simulation environments using programming tools that include MATLAB/Simulink, C++

- Willingness and ability top obtain a TS/SCI clearance

- Experience with CORESIM

- Experience with flight software development and autocode to C++ and Python

- Attitude Determination and Kalman Filter Experience

- Multi-body dynamics experience

- Familiarity with a GN&C hardware suite for space applications

- Experience going through a spacecraft program life cycle encompassing requirements generation, design, analysis, integration, verification, and testing of the GN&C subsystem for space applications including mission operations

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative team environment

- Demonstrated good communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to peers, management, subcontractors and customers.

- Possess an active TS/SCI Security clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $93,400 - $179,000 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
