FINANCE MANAGER
The Finance Manager is a key member of the finance organization, providing analytical support for leadership of key functional areas within SpaceX. This position involves establishing and maintaining working relationships with business partners, and supporting management with analysis and reporting to help support and accelerate rapid growth in our business.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Integrate with all levels of the business to understand hardware design and manufacturing processes, and rapidly answer business questions through analytical frameworks
Cultivate a deep understanding of vehicle architecture, including design and manufacturing processes as well as vehicle operations during test and flight
Work with engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing to create and maintain product introduction and improvement roadmaps
Create and maintain data infrastructure upon which other teammates and business partners can build ad-hoc or department specific reporting
Design PowerBI dashboards and create reports for product costs, inventory data, and operational execution for design engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain
Work with production and engineering teams to identify production and operational KPIs, and analyze performance against productivity targets
Partner with SpaceX business unit leaders to prepare financial analysis to help inform optimal operational decision making
Work closely with supply chain to ensure that financial obligations are tracked and committed appropriately as we scale for rapid growth
Create and implement flexible costing models and accounting classifications across a variety of products (could include Falcon, Dragon, Starship, and/or Starlink), including both low-volume actual costs and high-volume average cost metrics
Manage inventory valuations for multiple production locations, including reconciliation of WIP work orders and on-hand inventory, as well as set up capabilities for new sites/programs
Manage year-end audit request on inventory, cost of goods sold, and R&D spending
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree
8+ years of finance experience
Experience in forecasting, analysis, and reporting
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience supporting engineering or manufacturing process improvements
Experience extracting and analyzing information out of massive, complex and, in some cases, disparate datasets
Strong communication skills with the ability to regularly interface with executive management
Experience building data infrastructure (e.g., designing architecture, building data pipelines, implementing scalable monitoring) and implementing reporting solutions
Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) databases and Structured Query Language (SQL) programming
Advanced Excel financial modelling skills
