What you will do - Essential Responsibilities
Partner with stakeholders to conduct needs analysis and recommend learning strategies to address pressing business challenges; continuously gather insight to current and future needs
Bring innovative approaches and leading-edge learning practices to inform thinking on learning and development for our associates
Institute, monitor, and analyze success measurements for learning programs and initiatives
Lead a cross-function team of learning professionals - manage, coach, train, develop, and motivate - to create standards for learning design, delivery, and measurement
Build an effective team - effectively manage, develop, and engage existing team members and source, interview, select, and extend employment offers to ensure staffing to meet business needs
Equip and empower our associates and business partners
At CarMax Auto Finance, our associates are truly the foundation of company success. As a Manager on the Learning team, you will work with a team to develop and deliver learning to enhance associate performance, compliance, and engagement. You will serve as a correspondent between the business, your team, and the associate; collaborating closely to create effective learning methods that resonate. A candidate for this role will have a proven track record of strong written and verbal communication skills, necessary for building partnerships, influencing and communicating plans, changes and learning content. It takes a solid understanding of technical learning, adult learning principals, combined with an ability to motivate and manage associates to achieve both departmental and company goals. Our philosophy on learning and training is that it should be engaging and interactive, therefore this role will be expected to think creatively - exploring technology platforms, using sound judgement and decision making to deliver efficient, effective, and engaging learning with metrics to evaluate effectiveness.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in instructional design & application, and team management.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Proven track record of independent decision making and use of sound judgement and decision making.
The ability and experience to Interpret and analyze data, reports, processes, trends, and situations and recommend/implement solutions.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships
Ability to effectively prioritize and work productively with minimal supervision
Experience with web-based development software (e.g., Captivate, Articulate), multimedia authoring tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud) or other leading learning development technology is a plus
