Career DescriptionJob Description
DISTRIBUTION CENTER MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN II must be knowledgeable in all facets of the local Facilities Team's responsibilities and have general knowledge of all other departments within the facility. This position manages the local Facilities Team, and equipment assigned to the facility. This individual must be able to think on his or her feet and make sound, quick decisions with the support of the local Operations leadership team. This individual is the point of contact for all maintenance and repairs being completed onsite.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct weekly Facility Team meetings with department to discuss prior week's results, current week's expectations, issues that need to be addressed, office/safety issues, and work assignments.
Oversees the repair and maintenance of building equipment (HVAC, trash compactors, air compressors, wrapping machines, generator, forklifts, stock pickers, overhead doors, pallet jacks, reach trucks, ladders, etc.).
Supervises local Preventive Maintenance (PM) Programs and ensures programs are adhered to minimize down time.
Create & submit work-order tickets into online portal
Obtains and reviews contractor bids for local repairs (using OfficeTrax); schedules and oversees vendors work, through payment of invoice.
Trains and evaluates team members with assistance of local Operations leadership. Recommends termination of employment as appropriate.
Ensures the building, grounds, and equipment are clean and well maintained. Manages the facility's waste disposal program and EPA program to ensure waste is disposed of according to appropriate regulations.
Ensure replacement parts, tools, and supplies are properly accounted for and stored in their proper location.
Ensure the department has the proper equipment and qualified personnel to perform its functions.
File and maintain cut sheets for critical equipment (including warranty information), building plans, maintenance procedures, vendor contact lists, etc. Ensure documents are updated as needed and accessible to appropriate teammates.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Oversees day to day responsibilities for local security system (access control, codes, maintenance, and repair for devices, etc.).
Ensures fire protection systems are in compliance and tested as needed.
Be available onsite to assist as needed and resolve issues are required.
Complete any additional duties as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly or indirectly supervises all team members in the local Facilities Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training team members, planning, assigning, and supervising work. This position seeks constructive feedback from internal business partners and assists in resolving issues.
QUALIFICATIONS

Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and procedures including best safety practices.

EDUCATIONand/orEXPERIENCE
5 to 8 years related experience and/or training or some equivalent combination of education and experience; minimum of five years maintenance and supervisory experience in a distribution center require, or equivalent combination of Education and experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSE, REGISTRATIONS
Post hire certifications may be required to comply with safety standards as mandated by law to operate machinery or equipment.
