Description
SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer Principal with NRO experience to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services to a rapidly expanding Government Intelligence Community (IC) customer. This position supports a System Program Office (SPO) in a technical capacity for planning, execution, monitoring, and oversight of system development and acquisitions that advance the NRO's space resiliency posture. The Systems Engineer Principal will work in a collaborative team environment supporting systems engineering, mission analysis, and transition activities to address some of the space community's most challenging problems. Work location is geographically separated from the program office. Candidate must be capable of performing independently in coordination and cooperation with the host organization.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Position is estimated to be a half-time, multidisciplinary systems engineering role reviewing and guiding customer on large and small aerospace systems and technology maturation development
Day to day activities includes review of technical documents and acquisition artifacts, development of SOW requirements and requests for proposal documentation
Coordinate and participate in technical reviews; assist customer in execution of system development
Coordinate with stakeholder and mission partner organizations
Develop technology roadmaps and assess relevant current and future technologies for insertion by applying established technology/manufacturing readiness level scales
Primary work location is Dayton, OH area; If candidate resides in Dayton, the position requires ~25% travel. If candidate resides elsewhere, additional travel may be required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related scientific/technical discipline with at least 9 years of relevant experience; Or Master's Degree and at least 7 years of relevant experience; candidates with greater levels of experience will be considered
Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
Experience defining system/subsystem requirements and evaluating industry proposal submissions
Understanding of prime hardware assembly, integration and testing to include ground test articles
Experience maturing technologies and transitioning to demonstration/operational systems
Command of established technology/manufacturing readiness levels is highly desired
Familiarity with DoD acquisition process highly desired
Effective communication, coordination, and customer engagement skills
