Job Description

Reports to the Collections Supervisor, responsible for collections of Accounts Receivable. They will protect Badgers Accounts Receivable asset using good judgement and risk assessments.

• Primary responsibility for collection of Accounts Receivable.
• The Collection Specialist will protect Badgers Accounts Receivable assets using good judgment and risk assessments.
• Collection of past due customer accounts in assigned area's
• Recognizes and monitors designated accounts before they become a problem and recommend changes
• Overall customer account management; research and resolution of balances, unapplied payments, and ensure proper application of payments
• Recommends periodic changes to customer status
• Records collection information on customer's accounts
• Resolve customer disputes, making every reasonable effort to collect
• Provide support and share knowledge while maintaining excellent communication with Area Managers, billing, contracts, and management
• Accurately complete monthly A/R reporting package (ATB's)
• Reconciling Customer account balances and performing account analysis at the invoice level
• Distributes external collection reports
• Keeps abreast of any relevant changes that could affect collection
• To positively provide leadership and support within the Credit & Collection Team

• Other duties that may be assigned

• Associates Degree in Accounting, or High School Diploma with relevant work experience.

• Minimum of (1) years relevant experience working in an accounting environment
• Possessing problem solving and analytical skills is essential
• Strong working knowledge
• Ability to coordinated credit & collection functions.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to prioritize, organize and meet deadlines a must
• An accounting background is of benefit to the overall job performance.

Candidate will be required to successfully complete pre-employment screening, which includes criminal background check, credit check and drug and alcohol test. We also require supervisory references and education verification.
