The Systems Development Manager is a leading performer that manages technology projects and processes by leveraging creativity and comprehensive operational understanding to resolve a wide range of business issues. This role will tactically manage the evaluation, customization, implementation, and support of purchased applications and work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:
Collaborate with and may lead functional or cross-functional teams to generate solutions to complex problems.
Oversee the review and rewriting of existing application programs to increase operating efficiency and/or adapt to new requirements.
Synthesize data gathered by other team members to create actionable decision points and projects for leadership review.
Manage the translation of information into systems designs; manage detailed program specifications and creates design conversion tasks and schedules.
Leverage creativity and comprehensive process, technical, or operational understanding to resolve a wide range of issues.
Provide guidance and oversight to other team members on escalated on-call support issues.
Contribute to departmental strategy and goal development.
Creatively and strategically support key business objectives.
Participate in and may manage large, cross-functional projects or initiatives with strategic importance.
Perform high-level critical thinking, detailed information gathering, and application of business knowledge.
Generate fresh perspectives, breakthrough ideas, and new approaches that create value in the market.
Proactively investigate and/or lead investigations of alternative approaches, technologies, or partnerships.
Perform other duties as needed.
Required Experience and Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
6-8 years' relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
4-6 years' job-specific systems analysis work experience, with an emphasis on decision support systems.
4+ years' experience with RPG.
Familiar with Oracle.
Experience with relational and multidimensional database design as well as software package and/or systems implementation.
Experience with RDBMSs, front end query tools, and other data warehousing software.
Knowledge of advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Other Pertinent Job Information
Temporary indirect reporting relationships may exist while working as Project lead. May be required to act in senior role, providing task related advice and direction to junior team members.
