GENERAL FUNCTION

IT Security Analyst will support governance, risk, and compliance initiatives and perform key day to day activities to help secure data, information and generate output that illustrates the existing security controls. The analyst will create risk responses, acceptance or mitigation, for Management and external Client inquiries that properly illustrates how organization is enforcing established security controls to secure data and manage risk. The analyst will ensure compliance with policies and procedures necessary to ensure security of information system assets and protect them from intentional/inadvertent access, disclosure, or destruction in accordance with company policies and external requirements such as HIPAA, SAAE-18, HITRUST, and PCI. The analyst will support SSAE-18, PCI audits. The analyst will coordinate security awareness efforts for the organization.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Respond to internal/external customer inquiries regarding the information security controls, processes, procedures including governance and technical aspects

  • Monitor security group email box and coordinate with the decision makers; provide status reports and manage stakeholder communications

  • Maintain appropriate documentation to support inquired responses

  • Support process and review of access audits; maintain access and media storage access rights database

  • Support internal audit requirements such as HIPAA Security Rule assessment

  • Assist in the review of security policies/standards, ensuring the effectiveness of solutions, and providing security consultative services to the organization

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field; equivalent relevant experience in information technology security may be considered

  • One to three years of experience relevant working experience in information technology security;

  • Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to proprietary systems;

  • Information technology security experience and proven ability to meet deadlines;

  • Understanding of information risk management concepts;

  • Basic knowledge in key areas of information security such as Vulnerability Management, Intrusion Prevention and Detection, Access Control and Authorization, Policy Enforcement, Application Security, Protocol Analysis, Firewall Management, Incident Response, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Encryption, Two-Factor Authentication, Web filtering, and Advanced Threat Protection

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows /Active Directory, LDAP, Internet security and network security technologies (TCP/IP, firewalls, Anti-Virus products, etc.) and third party security or audit tools is required

  • Strong customer service focus;

  • Ability to adapt in dynamic work environment, learn quickly, solve problems and make decisions with minimal supervision;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills;

  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work

  • Ability to Develop process documentation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two to five years' relevant working experience in information technology security
