SR. SOFTWARE ENGINEER (STARLINK AUTOMATION & INFRASTRUCTURE)

Join the team responsible for the overall health and success of the software infrastructure that enables rapid development velocity and deployment reliability for all Starlink software. Your creativity and relentless commitment to quality will be critical to the reliability of our service and the success of our business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Hands-on integration and troubleshooting of all flight hardware/software and ground services

  • Invent new tools that enable more frequent and reliable software deployment, test execution, and data analysis as part of a continuous integration and release system

  • Develop tools that allow for test execution across multiple environments: virtualized hardware, real hardware-in-the-loop simulations, and on-orbit testing

  • Analyze test results and identify bugs that require in-depth investigations with engineers across the organization

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or science discipline; or 2+ years of professional experience in software development in lieu of degree

  • 5+ years of professional development experience in C, C++, python, or mobile development languages

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Fluency in object oriented Python development

  • Experience building, testing, or working with real-time embedded systems

  • Creative approach to problem solving

  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements

  • Ability to work independently and in a team, take initiative, and communicate effectively

  • Familiarity with the following:

  • Continuous integration

  • Radio frequency modulation schemes and protocols

  • Simulation software

  • Network protocols (TCP/UDP/gRPC/IPv6)

  • Maintaining hardware test setups
