VESSEL ENGINEER (MARINE OPERATIONS)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of the vessel's mechanical systems including propulsion, electrical, and auxiliary systems
Ensure the responsible operation of the vessel's systems as it pertains to safety, environmental regulation, and company policies
Schedule, oversee, and execute planned and repair maintenance to ensure mission readiness
Maintain appropriate logbooks and maintenance records to ensure compliance with appropriate standards
Ensure the safe transfer or bunkering of vessel fluids and management of vessel bilge, oil, and fuel resources
Create and execute planned and repair maintenance, with an emphasis on preventative maintenance plan implementation
Schedule, oversee, and execute planned and repair maintenance to ensure mission readiness
Lead the cleanliness and upkeep standards of the vessel, combining team efforts with external support
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline
1+ years of professional experience in a hands-on role with mechanical and/or fluid systems
1+ years of professional experience working in a role that deals with examinations or licensing-efforts with US Coast Guard (USCG) and/or American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) regulations
Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC)/license
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Chief Engineer limited credential
Dynamic positioning unlimited certificate/license (DP2)
Current (non-expired) USCG license, and ability to pass relevant USCG examinations; federal facility background checks, re-certifications, and chemical testing
3+ years of professional experience in a hands-on role with mechanical and/or fluid systems3+ years of professional experience working in a role that deals with examinations or licensing-efforts with US Coast Guard (USCG) and/or American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) regulations
Knowledge of vessel management systems, safety management systems, and regulatory programs such as OPA 90, MARPOL, ABS classing, etc.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral
Must be willing to travel to other SpaceX locations as necessary; role may require 50% travel
50-hour work week is typical, and may vary depending on site operational needs, flexibility is required
