Job Description
The Operations Manager at Brooklyn Bowl is responsible for executing and overseeing all floor activities related to service and entertainment on any assigned shift. Specifically, duties include directing and supporting all staff members on the floor to maximize the efficiency and productivity of our staff and making critical decisions and judgment calls in order to ensure the satisfaction and comfort of our guests. The Operations Manager must regularly interface with other members of the management team, the operations staff, the kitchen staff, the production staff, the artists, and the guests to execute services and entertainment in the manner set forth by the guidelines of Brooklyn Bowl, most commonly found in the one sheet, but not excluding other sources. Additional duties, including but not limited to: administrative work, departmental work, staff training, and policies and procedures development are also integral parts of the Operations Manager position.
Responsibilities
Provide direction to the operations staff under the guideline set forth in by the established protocol of BB's policies and procedures
Communicate clearly and frequently with the operations staff, management, and kitchen before, during and after shift to ensure optimal service to our guests
Assist operations staff as necessary in the performance of their jobs
Oversee and guide employee/guest interactions to ensure that service is provided in a manner consistent with the philosophy of BB
Be a visible presence in the room to both staff and guests, ready to step in and address issues at any moment
Be responsible for ensuring guests are satisfied through both team leadership and face-to-face guest interaction
Resolve any disputes regarding service, payment or other matters on an as-needed basis
Assist in the planning and execution of daily musical events, special events, and VIP guest services
Seamlessly integrate the various aspects of entertainment and service throughout each shift using guidelines set forth in the one sheet as well as other strategic and proactive measures
Participate in the development of managers' notes detailing the day's financial and qualitative aspects of the venue's operations on each shift
Ensure quality of food, timeliness of food delivery & cost control during service
Maintain safety and security of the room and the guests and employees within
Ensure that lighting, temperature, music, cleanliness and other environmental aspects of room are appropriate for our guests
Observe staff and participate in management talent reviews and employee reviews
Conduct and oversee training of new staff and continuing education
Assist on an as-needed basis with the management and operations of individual departments, including service, bar, bowling, security, facilities, production, and training
Minimum Position Requirements
Minimum of three years experience in a supervisory/management role in a similar venue
Superior communication skills
Ability to foster long-lasting working relationships
Ability to manage under pressure and make decisions in real time
Ability to operate at a high level under the direction of the management team
Ability to manage multiple operational and managerial tasks simultaneously
Must possess both solid judgment and be accountable
Comfortable working environment that is fast-paced with a moderate to loud noise level
Available to work full-time, with variable weekday and weekend shifts, both day and night
Ability to lift up to 75lbs
Ability to wear an ear piece for radio communications required
Ability to handle confidential information and/or issues with discretion and sound judgment
