Job Description:
Will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the Molecular testing department including validation of instruments and training staff in molecular processes - sample preparation, extraction, amplification, detection, and interpretation of results as well as proper decontamination techniques. This position requires proven problem solving and trouble-shooting skills, adaptability and flexibility, proven knowledge of molecular testing principles and practices, excellent organizational and prioritization skills, and excellent precision and accuracy skills.
Education Qualifications:
Graduate of a four-year degree in Clinical Laboratory science
OR
Molecular biologist degree or equivalent discipline
Molecular experience preferred
Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
Current American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification or ability to obtain certification within one year from date of hire.
