Recruiting Profile
Dal-Tile is currently seeking a Sorting Department Manager to join our TEAM! As the Sorting Manager, we need someone who is ready to provide a variety of support such as manage personnel involved with the sorting department.
Primary Objective
Manages sorting lines to insure quality product.
Major Function and Scope
Manages personnel involved with mteh sorting department. .
Resolve highly critical issues within department while maintaining rigorous adherence to project timelines and costs.
Directs preventative maintenance programs for department and researches ways to run equipment more efficiently.
Ensures training as required to maintain necessary technical and mechanical skills.
Ensures safe and healthful working conditions and an organized work environment and conducts regular safety meetings.
Coaches and reviews performance of direct reports.
Ensures employees complete required training.
Ensure ergonomic risk factors are reduced to an acceptable level when feasible.
Lead injury/illness investigations and ensure accurate root cause is identified and addressed. Where feasible, strive to ensure injured e employees do not return to a given job until the causative factors are identified and controlled.
Demonstrate safe work practices.
Promotes and adheres to all safety and health policies and procedures of plant.
Analyze problems that arise and determine actions that will minimize the problems, decrease costs and/or improve yields, recommends changes upon approval and then implements changes.
Maintains performance records on employees and routinely communicates performance to employees. Conducts couching sessions on methods and techniques for improving performance, including reviewing time records.
Schedules employees work time and vacation time to ensure proper coverage for production and ensuring the budget guidelines for overtime are met each year.
Work with support groups in Production, Raw Materials, Accounting and Safety to coordinate projects of plant.
Performs other duties as required by Manager.
Experience and Knowledge Required
At least 3 years of supervisory/management experience in Tile industry.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with a bachelor's degree preferred. Knowledge of industrial maintenance procedures and construction preferred.
Competencies
Core competencies include strong communication and problem-solving skills, data analysis and interpretation, decision making, and ability to prioritize. Good computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
