What you will do - Essential responsibilities
Under general direction of the Talent Acquisition Leadership, this position will be responsible for managing the recruiting process for technician recruiting. Additional responsibilities include the development of strong partnerships among hiring managers, candidates, trade schools and teammates; and the delivery of exceptional customer service to both external and internal customers.
What you will do:
Develop and execute effective recruiting strategies. This will include sourcing and identifying candidates through proactive and passive recruiting strategies such as web searches, job boards, diversity groups, social networking, cold calling, database mining, professional organizations, job fairs, college and alumni communities, trade schools, direct recruiting, assessment days, and agencies
Coordinate our on-campus Trade School interview process
Build strong partnerships with Trade School campuses to drive CarMax employment brand
Build strong partnerships with hiring managers in order to drive recruiting process and serve as their primary point-of-contact through the CarMax recruiting process. This includes clear and timely communication over the phone, through email and/or face-to-face meetings
Guide CarMax hiring managers through the interview/hiring process to ensure fair and consistent candidate selection methods. Partner with Manager to answer challenging and/or new questions that arise.
Partner with Manager to develop and execute effective recruiting strategies that will support CarMax's initiative with regard to work force diversity
Build strong relationships with candidates, and serve as their primary point-of-contact through the CarMax recruiting process
Create job requisitions and accurately manage candidates through the recruiting workflow in CarMax's applicant tracking system
Create/develop job postings and advertisements used for carmax.com, major job boards (i.e., LinkedIn, CareerBuilder) and other online resources (i.e., diversity sites, social networking sites, niche' sites, alumni sites, etc.)
Attend and participate in company-wide activities associated with personal development and/or organizational knowledge (CDPs, Workshops, KMX Leadership Classes)
Flexibility to travel up to 30% to attend and participate in job fairs, outplacement events, trade school, recruiting and/or other externally sponsored recruiting events.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Recruiter II:
2 years of full life cycle recruiting and talent acquisition program coordination experience within the last 5 years required
Demonstrated knowledge and use of Applicant Tracking Systems
Experience with creating candidate pipelines and engaging passive candidates
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-energy, fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently at times
Ability to communicate in a clearly and timely over the phone, through email and/or face-to-face
Proven track record of successfully building strong relationships and delivering exceptional customer service
Ability to reason, and communicate detailed information on hiring regulations/employment laws, benefits and compensation to hiring managers and job applicants
Ability to think critically and demonstrate general problem solving skills
Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule to support workload across multiple time zones
Sr. Recruiter:
4+ years of full life cycle recruiting within the last 5 years required
2 years of talent acquisition program coordination
Demonstrated knowledge and use of Applicant Tracking Systems
Experience with creating candidate pipelines and engaging passive candidates
Ability to develop program recommendations and communications that drive increased outreach, candidate and school engagement, and Technician hires
Ability to independently problem solve and manage business partnerships and external partner relationships
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-energy, fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail, organization, and time management
Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently at times
Ability to communicate in a clearly and timely over the phone, through email and/or face-to-face
Proven track record of successfully building strong relationships and delivering exceptional customer service
Ability to reason, and communicate detailed information on hiring regulations/employment laws, benefits and compensation to hiring managers and job applicants
