The Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) Technical Writer is responsible for developing, maintaining, improving, and publishing electronic and printed end user documentation for United Health Group's provisioning systems, including Secure and SailPoint products. Secure is our homegrown Identity and Access Management solution. It is an enterprise-wide access request workflow and access provisioning tool, used to ensure that people have the appropriate access to the appropriate systems for the appropriate reasons. SailPoint vendor provisioning solutions are used to support these functions for specific user populations (non-integrated entities, government contracts)
This Technical Writer is part of the Access Management team and may also collaborate in the creation of other end user focused training content and reference materials, such as videos or on-demand CBT courses. This team member also supports and facilitates Secure end user forums (Secure Office Hours) and contributes content to Secure's Behind The Shield SharePoint site, and Viva Engage user community. Additionally, the Technical Writer will perform operational /administrative procedure documentation reviews as necessary.

Primary Responsibilities:
Own the process for creating and modifying our online user guide, while maintaining standards, styles and guidelines, including working with the engineering team to incorporate documentation components into the software build process
Develop written user documentation to support our products when existing functionality is enhanced and new capabilities are implemented, including role and capability specific reference guides
Coordinate and consult with Product Owners to understand documentation requirements that coincide with releases, and develop content to support new product capabilities
Conduct interviews with various users, SMEs and Agile team members to gather data for documentation
Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format or content
Continuously improve content in response to frequent product changes and feedback from customers and colleagues
Maintain metrics that provide visibility to leadership on progress and quality
Analyze usage metrics and search results to ensure users are finding the right content
Develop and publish release communications in alignment with corporate standards and templates
Develop and manage SharePoint content, including FAQs
Collaborate with our Customer Success team on documentation and communication in support of product user adoption and data integrity/cleanup initiatives
Facilitate user forums for our products
Problem solving/troubleshooting
Ability to plan, prioritize and multi-task

Required Qualifications:
3+ years of experience as a Technical Writer
3+ years of experience creating, maintaining, and publishing written and online documentation using content management software
3+ years of experience utilizing online/digital documentation presentation best practices
3+ years of experience working with dynamic, highly collaborative teams, requiring close consultation and coordination
Ability to work independently with solid self-initiative and high degree of flexibility
Experience planning and managing documentation development and revision projects to meet deadlines
Proficiency with MS Office (Including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and SharePoint)
Preferred Qualifications:
Agile/Scrum experience
Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) project management
Experience with MadCap Flare
Experience with healthcare industry
Experience with Identity and Access Management

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
