ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

SpaceX is looking for an experienced and driven Administrative Assistant to support our Washington, DC office. The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day operations and functioning of the DC site.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the first point of contact for guests, clients, and vendors visiting SpaceX

  • Design and implement office policies by establishing standards and procedures, measuring results against standards, and making necessary adjustments

  • Perform company sensitive and complex administrative duties involving Excel, Word, and PowerPoint including typing letters, creating/updating spreadsheets, filing, and compiling presentations

  • Provide project management and maintain momentum on high-priority projects, including but not limited to, staffing, resource planning, onboarding new team members, space planning, and strategy development for efficiencies among teams

  • Liaise with building management and external vendors to address facilities issues

  • Maintain inventory of office supplies and equipment

  • Process daily mail, package retrieval/distribution, and outbound shipments

  • Plan and execute social events, team-building activities, and culture events throughout the year

  • Offer ad hoc IT support and troubleshooting

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate

  • 2+ years of experience working in an office setting

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 2+ years of professional experience in an administrative role

  • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office applications and project management software tools

  • Outstanding organization, communication, time management, and resource management skills

  • Initiative in resolving problems and an independent worker, with enthusiasm and an energetic approach to work

  • Demonstrated excellence thriving in a fast-paced environment and embracing change

  • Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and autonomously

  • Exhibit strong attention to detail, ability to adapt to daily schedules and routines, and a focus on efficiency without sacrificing quality

  • Active First Aid/CPR/AED certification

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed

  • Ability and willingness to occasionally stand in a static position for extended periods

  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted

ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
