Position Summary
In this position you will work closely with all business lines and centers within GBS (Global Business Services) with subject matter experts, project managers, application owners and the data team. Direct key stakeholder contacts include Digitalization & Innovation Head, GBS Business Lines (Demand Management), Internal and external implementation partners (e.g. Microsoft, AWS, Google) and vendors as well as SOP IT (standard operation procedure).
You have a minumum 3 years' experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building and implementing models, using/creating algorithms and creating/running simulations. You have proven ability to drive business results with data-based insights. You are comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams. The right candidate will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes.
Proficient in data mining techniques, performing statistical analysis, and building high quality prediction systems integrated with other products
Fluency in Database query languages
Experience in selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques
Main responsibilities
Work with large, complex data sets and applying advanced analytical methods as needed
Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets
Run PoCs and Pilots projects to investigate and prove the feasibility and benefits of the proposed solutions
Interact with multiple stakeholders (from different levels) and effectively present findings by exploiting visual displays of complex quantity information in a simplified way
Identify and develop intelligent and innovative data analytics use cases to optimize the existing business
processes
Be the partner of choice regarding technology advisory for advanced analytics
Actively and proactively perform market/trend scouting to stay up to date on the state-of-the-art technologies
Ability to travel up to 10%
Required Skills, Experience and Knowledge
3+ years of knowledge in advanced data analytics / data science / machine learning
Bachelor's degree required, in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Statistics, Operations Research, Bioinformatics, Economics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering)
Experience with statistical software (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB, pandas) and database languages (e.g., SQL)
Experience with cloud technologies: Amazon Web Services, Snowflake and/or Microsoft Azure
Experience on collecting business requirements and traduce it into solution designs
Preferably 2 years' experience with SAP/HANA
Understanding of API protocols and architectures
Awareness of cloud architectures and applications
Very good communication and presentation skills
