Title: ASSET PROTECTION/SAFETY INVEST (RFT/DISTRIBUTION CENTER) Location: United States-Hawaii-Honolulu Job Number: 24000365 Job Summary: Provides support to the Loss Prevention Safety Manager for a safe and secure working environment for all associates and visitors within the Distribution Center. Duties and Responsibilities : Conducts Safety Reviews and Surveys to ensure compliance with OSHA, NavOSH, NavSup, and NEXCOM safety instructions and reports discrepancies to the Loss Prevention Safety Manager. - Assists in internal/external investigations as it relates to inventory discrepancies theft and safety. - Prepares case reports, investigative notes, and processes evidence in accordance with NEXCOM LPS standards. - Maintains absolute confidentiality of all investigative research and case information. - Testifies as necessary, in criminal and civil court proceedings to include Military Courts Martial and other military command disciplinary proceedings and administrative hearings. - Conducts all associate and MHE accident mishap investigations. Prepares and ensures that results of all investigations are documented professionally in reports according to departmental standards. - Under the supervision of the Loss Prevention/Safety Manager ensures safety training, awareness programs, safety committees, and accident (mishap) prevention programs are implemented in the Distribution Center. - Oversees the MHE program, including classroom training and reports program deficiencies to the Loss Prevention Safety Manager. - Assists in analyzing trends of accidents (mishaps) occurring in the Distribution Center. - Adheres to prescribed work schedules as determined to be in the best interest of the NEXCOM Distribution Center. - Maintains a professional image and demeanor in appearance and communications at all times. - Works under the general supervision of the distribution Loss Prevention/Safety Manager who provides guidance, determines the scope of assignment, and discusses the results desired and principles and guidelines to be applied. Supervisor is available to resolve problems. Work is reviewed in detail for soundness of judgment, adherence of deadlines, procedural or policy instructions and effectiveness of results. - Must be proficient in MS Office. Performs other related duties as assigned. Candidates must be eligible for and obtain a Secret Clearance within 6 months of appointment. Failure to obtain will result in termination. Physical Requirements: Works in large warehouse distribution center environment with extreme seasonal temperature fluctuations. Climbs stairways up to 20ft. Climbs ladders. Physically maneuvers around heavy Material Handling Equipment (forklift) and tractor trailers. Opens and closes trailers and containers requiring pushing and pulling doors. Walks the warehouse floor regularly. Job requires incumbent to walk on hard surface 8 hours daily. This requirement is more extensive when performing Inventory and DC projects. Regularly lifts up to 50 lbs and over 50 lbs with assistance from others. Performs body movements such as bending, twisting, stooping, etc. Operates a pallet jack to move materials up to 500 lbs. Works around potential Haz-Mat issues. Wears protective clothing and shoes in performing job functions. Operates hand held telxon gun. Qualifications: U.S. Citizenship Required GENERAL EXPERIENCE 1 year responsible experience in clerical, office, or retail sales, store work of any kind which the applicant has demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily in the position to be filled. AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE 1 year experience which clearly demonstrated that the applicant possesses a knowledge of general law enforcement methods and techniques or experience in investigative type work which included the protection of property, equipment, or materials and person-to-person relationships in maintaining various rules and regulations. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE For 2 years experience 1 year of academic study above the high school level which included 6 semester hours in policy administration, police law, evidence investigation, criminology law enforcement, or similar subjects may be substituted for each year of experience.
