TEST SPECIALIST (STARLINK VEHICLE SOFTWARE)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate and ensure satellite development test systems and areas are operating properly
Build, update, repair and validate bespoke test equipment, servers and network racks
First level troubleshooting of system errors by reading and interpreting logged information and electrical/mechanical diagnostics
Fabricate and repair cable harnesses including: soldering, crimping and assembling connectors
Develop and document procedures for execution, maintenance, assembly, and anomaly handling
Operate test systems using custom graphical and textual interfaces, written in Bash and Python, and running on Linux operating systems
Aid in efforts to uncover root-cause of equipment failures and develop permanent resolution on issues found during test operations
Perform routine maintenance and calibration of equipment,
Maintain an organized, clean and safe work environment
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
Bachelor's degree in an engineering field or 2+ years of experience working in a hands-on technical position
1+ years of experience performing electronic testing and inspection using portable measuring devices
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electronic engineering technology
Strong skills in debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing
Creative approach to problem solving, exceptional analytical skills and engineering fundamentals
Strong understanding of technical documentation, engineering drawings, and schematics
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Experience working and administering a Linux environment
Developed and deployed software that has been used in real world projects (Python preferred)
Basic understanding of networking, including VLANs, namespaces and routing
Experience with radio frequency components, links and wiring
Comfortable with basic mechanical tools and tasks, such installing subassemblies and racking equipment.
Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment
Experience operating a crane or similar heavy equipment
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and/or weekends as needed
Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs
