ORBITAL TUBE WELDER (COPV)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follow established procedures to setup and operate the orbital welding system
Work from blueprints and approved drawings
Cut and prepare all tubing and fittings used in the welding operation
Perform setup of the welding system
Assemble and calibrate liquid controllers and systems as required
Inspect all completed assemblies using the borescope inspection system
Maintain an adequate supply of spare parts for the welding system
Maintain a clean work area
Maintain a file of all work records
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
Welding, machining or manufacturing experience
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Certification from a formal orbital weld training program
3+ years of orbital welding experience
Airframe and powerplant (A&P) license
TIG welding and clean room experience
Experience working in an aerospace manufacturing environment
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to work all shifts, overtime, and/or weekends as needed. 1st shift (5 AM - 1:30 PM) or 2nd shift (1 PM - 9 PM)
Able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
Able to stand for extended periods - 8 hours min
Able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces
