Fulfillment Buyer - Temporary at SpaceX

FULFILLMENT BUYER - TEMPORARY POSITION

We are a progressive procurement organization pushing the boundaries of traditional procurement reputation and methodologies. We are looking for individuals who can think outside the box to achieve company objectives regarding value and partnerships with our suppliers. Our organization moves quickly, and you must too. SpaceX has the unique ability and desire to influence and shape suppliers to be better with us as we challenge our supply chain on cost, quality and delivery. We are looking for the right person who is equipped and ready for these challenges to join our team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Issue purchase orders quickly and without error

• Ensure purchase orders are acknowledged by suppliers

• Obtain the original promise date from suppliers

• Review open order report and manage deliveries

• Resolve invoice issues and ensuring that vendors are paid on time

• Expedite parts as necessary

• Act as customer service for SpaceX internal customers

• Assist team with supplier onboardings

• Implement category strategies at Cape Canaveral site

• Manage the launch operations incoming queue with direction

• Support buyers in cost savings initiatives

• Lead miscellaneous procurement projects

POSITION DETAILS:

This is a temporary position with SpaceX, for the length of time as stated, and is subject to change with minimal notice as business needs dictate.

• LENGTH OF POSITION: 3 months

• LOCATION: Cape Canaveral, FL

• SHIFT: standard business hours

• Role would be eligible for medical benefits, sick time, paid holidays, and 401k

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, business, or supply chain

• Purchasing experience, specifically related to indirect buying

• Remarkable problem-solving skills with a bias for speed

• Ability to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needs

• Excellent customer service skills

• Effective written, verbal and presentation communication skills

• Ability to conduct all activities with the highest degree of integrity

• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment

• Ability to type 75+ words per minute

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral

• Position requires ability to work overtime when needed

ITAR REQUIREMENTS:

• To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
