The Senior Manager of Consumer Logistics is responsible for the execution along with growth and development of the CarMax transportation consumer programs. The Senior Manager will lead the operational design and execution of the home delivery & appraisal pickup Logistics processes. This leader will directly manage the operational solutions for these programs along with a team of direct reports based in the field.
What you will do - Essential Responsibilities
Build operational structures to facilitate home delivery & appraisal pickup
Collaborate with internal business partners to build scalable solutions to support consumer facing operations
Partner with Procurement to identify and contract additional transport channels to support business growth, including 3PL opportunities
Lead performance discussions with the Field & Carriers service partners to set customer service goals & standards
Create KPIs with scorecarding process of internal and external processes to drive results
Develop QBR process for carrier base supporting the program
Promote teamwork and develop talent within the team
Directly manage & develop field level Logistics Managers across the country
Own resolution all customer escalations
Partner with technology to build out the long term solutions to improve program efficiency
Drive cost savings and fleet efficiency by executing the manager move type decision tree
Promote safety and compliance with the U.S.D.O.T and state requirements
Analysis & Reporting:
Present ongoing reporting for consumer-based programs to ensure operational targets are met
Directly own relationship with alternative delivery team on delivery forecasting and capacity needs
Purpose of the role
At CarMax, our consumer-based programs have expanded as a nationwide service offering. Directly managing the operational solutions for this program will be imperative in a world class customer experience. The Senior Manager of the consumer-based Logistics programs will directly manage locally based Logistics teams to ensure consistent logistics execution. The leader will need to directly interface with their business partners to ensure the logistics solutions align to the service needs of our customers.
Qualifications and Requirements
4 year degree required, Business or Logistics focus preferred
3 years Logistics experience required
Strong ability to work productively and independently
Strong customer service and relationship building skills
Ability to travel up to 50% required
