Responsibilities:

Operations and Logistics

  • Develop and execute both operating and capital expenditure budgets

  • Responsible for negotiating and procuring appropriate supplies for multiple operations

  • Initiate and maintain building and grounds conditions while minimizing operational constraints

  • Develop test programs to improve operational conditions

  • Continuing to drive productivity and continuous process improvements

  • Manages all phases of multiple distribution center operations including but not limited to cost containment, staffing, quality, maintenance, fleet management, safety, inventory control, and shipping and receiving

  • Develops and implements a strategic plan for Logistics and Distribution Centers by studying technological and financial opportunities, presenting analysis, and recommending objectives

  • Sets and shares a clear vision with objectives and effectively leads the teams that provide operational expertise in the Logistics and Distribution Center functions to implement effective strategy

  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives utilizing LEAN, Six Sigma or other proven methods focused on processes including, receiving, routing, picking, loading and inventory control

  • Flexes and adapts strategy and actions when external forces impact the supply chain landscape, partnering appropriately to ensure implementation and results

  • Maintains inventory control, receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures

  • Complies with all environmental regulations regarding the handling, storage, testing and disposal of hazardous and dangerous materials

    Leadership

  • Works in partnership with Human Resources in succession planning for key positions, providing accurate and timely developmental feedback to maintain a highly skilled and engaged team

  • Develops, updates, monitors and communicates scorecards and metrics performance to the team, translating trends into action

  • Understands, upholds, and communicates the company's guiding principles of culture, teamwork, continuous improvement, results, and customer focus

  • Supports the safety culture by approving budget, providing resources, and supporting training initiatives around safety

  • Develop and implement measures to control expenses while working with team members to meet targeted key performance metrics

  • Ensure goals are being met by providing clear directives and offering assistance as needed

  • Develop SOP's and ensure all coworkers understand and operate within them

  • Participates in accident investigations as needed

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Management or related field

  • 8 or more years experience in logistics and/or distribution center operations

  • Current valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations relative to distribution center operations

  • Proficient ERP and computer skills

  • Ability to think strategically, lead change, and communicate

  • Excellent mentoring, coaching, and training skills

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize work
