T-Mobile is looking to add an exceptional Engineer, Software to the Reporting & Analytics team. This individual will help drive a modern and flexible payment database strategy that will facilitate advanced analytics, payment cost analytics, ad-hoc reporting, automation, and operations. The Engineer, Software will report into the Sr. Manager of Reporting & Analytics within Payments Strategy & Operations (PSO).

What you'll do in your role.

  • Manage existing projects developing pipelines to data lakes, databases, and repositories across the enterprise and external to the company for our analytics organization.

  • Leverage your subject matter expertise in big data implementations (Snowflake preferred) to continue to scale the analytics team's data and analytics capabilities.

  • Utilize best-in-class and standard practice methodologies, systems, governance and implementations relating to data warehousing.

  • Transform existing processes to leverage more adept and agile methodologies - accelerating success within the data warehousing team.

  • Develop custom scripts/code in support of unique data blending, aggregation, and enrichment in a variety of environments.

  • Support analysts, data scientists, and leaders who conduct ad-hoc and exploratory analytics.

  • Architect, deploy, and manage a data warehouse and web applications for growing self-service needs of internal business customers.

  • Partner with engineers across the enterprise to build and implement a data and application strategies in support of future analytics needs.

  • Translates business, and functional requirements into documented technical specifications or User Stories.

  • Utilizes development skills to build (code) and unit test new systems functionality per technical specifications, with deliverables to include code builds and documented unit test results.

  • Partners effectively across the organization and has a passion for problem solving and learning.

The experience you'll bring.

  • Curious, self-driven, and an excellent problem solver. Comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.

  • 3+ years' work experience working as a data and application engineer.

  • 2+ years' experience with Analytics and Operational Data Warehousing deployments on Snowflake/Azure. Experience with PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Oracle, Hadoop, HANA and Teradata a plus

  • Experience with master data management (MDM) and CI/CD.

  • Expert in SQL, T-SQL, Visual Studio/SSIS, and at least one object-oriented programming language (C#, C++, Java, etc.).

  • Thorough understanding of BI Application development, data governance, and change management

  • Familiarity with SOX regulation a plus (e.g. change management, evidence, and development of SOX compliant database assets).

  • Experience with TFS, git hub, or equivalent

  • Comfortable with scripting languages such, windows powershell/unix shell, python, and/or bash.
