As a Senior Engineer, you will be part of the Regional National Development Team working directly with our Regional Implementation teams, SWOPS (Switch Operations) Transport, and FOPS (Field Operations) to complete the integration, commissioning, and test turn-up of Ericsson and Nokia Radio Access Network (RAN) infrastructure to the highest standards. The SR Engineer will be responsible to provide cost effective support and implement solutions as part of the Magenta Build Initiative. You provide remote integration support on multiple RAN solutions in a live production network environment. The position will require the Engineer to be directly involved in the commissioning and integration of RAN Equipment across multi-vendor platforms such as Samsung, Nokia (formerly Alcatel-Lucent), and Ericsson. The Engineer will remotely assist field installation teams in the commissioning, integration, test and turn-up of new site builds as well as new technology augments required to optimize network performance. The Engineer will be tasked with configuring network devices, triaging technical problems, develop and enforce policies/procedures, properly organize projects, tasks, while providing the best possible end user support experience. Best practices in system installation, configuration, and monitoring to ensure minimum downtime and disruption to the network will be used.
What you'll do in your role.
Partner with regional commissioning & integration deployment teams to perform pre-commission, Commissioning, Integration, Maintenance and Upgrades to T-Mobile cell site equipment and auxiliary equipment.
Perform Commissioning and Integration of Nokia and Ericsson cell sites from factory default to commercial on air.
Develop Ericsson and Nokia radio Access Network (RAN) configuration scripts
Perform highly complex RF engineering activities supporting the design, development, and optimization of the T-Mobile wireless network.
Assemble site specific CIQ (Customer Information Questionnaire) source data to auto-generate RAN configuration scripts
Perform Software development of SharePoint Commissioning and Integration tools to improve efficiency
Perform engineering functions related to interconnect equipment and facilities, signaling systems, switches and traffic.
Responsible for independently performing process improvement and addressing process gaps to improve workflow activities
Provision RAN elements in databases and applicable Element Management Systems as needed
Create and manage Integration Ready to Proceed (INTP)
Complete and Manage Ready to transmit. (RTT)
Responsible for equipment powered up and testing and integration of RAN equipment in a production environment including cable connections
Ensure the lasted software and the correct configurations are loaded into the equipment
Ensure the cell site is connected to the network and integrated to become a functional part of `network
Ensure any new hardware is connected to the network and integrated into the cell site
Seamless end-to-end cell site test support and ownership of cell site planning phases to remote LTE Cell site acceptance
Technical writing skills required to create specific commissioning, integration, and LTE cell site acceptance methods of procedures
Single point-of-contact for integration, commissioning, and acceptance issues
Technical writing skills required to create Network Deployment Custom Test Plans for feature Activations and integration testing
Support the knowledge transfer of commissioning and Integration to other engineers
Define key Performance indicators to ensure there are no customer experience impacts
Support field implementation and performance troubleshooting efforts issues such as RSSI, VSWR and alarm troubleshooting.
Escalate client problems according to established procedures but exercising judgment in the process
Ensure configuration MOPs are implemented correctly
Ability to plan and lead in network maintenance windows
Share knowledge with other team members on network devices or operating systems
The experience you'll bring.
5-7 years' experience and In-depth knowledge of T-Mobile Cell site Commissioning and integration of Ericsson and Nokia RAN equipment.
Strong working knowledge of RF wireless technologies and products.
A demonstrated understanding of multiple backhaul network topologies, associated Radio access network (RAN) and Optical / Microwave Transmission infrastructure.
Proficient with Internet Protocol (IP) networking
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Windows products and databases.
Working knowledge of vendor Element Management Systems (EMS).
Experience integrating and troubleshoot all components of Wireless and transport network
Experience with SharePoint software and automation tool development.
Previous experience working in telecom network infrastructures providing implementation and technical support on Ericsson and Nokia RAN equipment.
Desire to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks with minimal direct supervision
Strong knowledge with the following T-Mobile RAN network technologies: GSM, UMTS, LAWS3, NBIOT, L600, L700, L1900, L1700, L2100, 2.5 5G and 600 5G
Ability to troubleshoot RAN RSSI, VSWR and alarm issues
Knowledge and understanding of the Nokia and Ericsson RAN RF Sharing and IWK (5G Interworking/Dual connectivity Plans).
Ability to troubleshoot fiber connections and SFP issues.
Ability to implement Cell Site Router (CSR) configurations.

Education
Minimum Required
Bachelor's Degree. Engineering, Computer Science or related
5-7 years' experience and In-depth knowledge of T-Mobile Cell site Commissioning and integration of Ericsson and Nokia RAN equipment.
In lieu of degree, 7+ years equivalent experience may be considered
