Job Summary
North Anna Power Station in Mineral, Virginia is seeking a highly experienced Senior Instructor to join the team in support of Initial Licensed Operator Training.
The position will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Senior Instructor (Nuclear)
Develop instructional materials and conduct training for various technical training programs at the Company's nuclear power stations. An incumbent at this level should have in-depth knowledge of instructional design theory as well as expertise in the technical area for which he or she is providing training. This level works on the most complex training topics and is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating training in the classroom, laboratory and on-the-job. This level also is responsible for maintaining training programs in accordance with nuclear industry, regulatory and legal requirements.
Senior Instructor (Nuclear Operations)
Develop instructional materials and conduct training for licensed and non-licensed operators at the Company's nuclear power stations. An incumbent at this level should have in-depth knowledge of instructional design theory as well as hold or have held a Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license or SRO certification. The individual also is required to participate in rigorous technical and instructional continuing training. The instructor level works on the most complex training topics and is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating training in the main control room simulator, classroom, laboratory, and on the job. The level is also responsible for maintaining training programs in accordance with nuclear industry, regulatory and legal requirements. Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Senior Instructor (Nuclear):
12 + years of related experience OR;
-Certified Instructor (including 5+ years of experience) OR;
-RO or SRO (including 5+ years of experience) OR;
-Sr Instructor Training Cert from Dominion (including 5+ years of experience)
Sr. Instructor (Nuclear Operations):
13+ years related experience in training or nuclear operations
Hold or have held an SRO license or certification
In depth knowledge of instructional theory and design and SAT
Ability to train and lead others with an in depth knowledge of instructional theory and design
Ability to analyze and develop training materials
Experience interfacing with regulatory personnel and industry peers
Experience operating various instrumentation and controls.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong computer and problem solving skills
In-depth knowledge of plant operations and systems.
Additional KSAs for both positions:
-In depth knowledge of instructional theory and design and SAT.
-Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, good personal computer, operate various instrumentation and controls, problem solving.
-Abilities: Analyze and develop training materials, train and lead others, interface with regulatory personnel and industry peers, informal leadership skills, ability to effectively communicate with regulators.
Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will count as one year toward the year of experience. A Master's Degree will count as one year toward the years of experience.
Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5 plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined above are encouraged to apply.

Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education.
Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description
Other: Reactor Operator (RO) or Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license or applicable discipline INPO accredited initial training program or Senior Instructor Training Certification (Dominion) or Certified Instructor North Anna and Surry must meet ANS 3.1 12/79, (Section 4.4.7.2)
