Title: EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT CLERK - Naval Base San Diego (Full Time 35 + hrs.) Job Summary: Performs clerical work and limited intradepartmental training in areas as Safety EEO Standards of Conduct Alcohol and Drug Abuse etc. Assists in counseling employees on training opportunities. Maintains records. Duties and Responsibilities: Works with Employee Development Specialist to schedule and arrange the various training sessions. Contacts managerssupervisors by correspondence notifying them of identified employees who are required to attend training coursessessions. Maintains lists of films training guide supplements and other training materials available from various sources. Monitors and receives the documentation of onthejob training coursessessions. Conducts intradepartmental training sessions in such subjects as Standards of Conduct alcohol and drug abuse safety Equal Employment Opportunity loss prevention and other subjects. Advises employees of selfstudy courses available and most suitable courses based on their background interest and the positions being performed. Grades completed courses and prepares certificates of completion. Arranges for presentation of certificates of completion. Maintains appropriate training records assuring that required training schedules and reports are completed and processed. Maintains a training information library. Advises employees of the Educational Assistance Program and assist in promoting the employee selfdevelopment programs by providing information on job related and other courses available. Responsible for the scheduling and maintenance for available films training guide supplements projection equipment and supplies. Orders and maintains custody of the training aids required films etc. Maintains required records and prepares appropriate projected and completed training reports. Updates employees personnel jackets by filing records of training received. Completes all training nomination forms and submits requests for payment of courses. Monitors completion of Introduction Checklists and employee training personnel records. May operate a motor vehicle with a valid operators license in picking up and delivering training material supplies etc. in accordance with established procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, holidays and evenings Travel required up to 25% within the Navl Base Complex and District Office Qualifications: GENERAL EXPERIENCE 1 year general office clerical experience which has demonstrated the ability to perform clerical duties satisfactorily. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE 1 year specialized experience in one or more areas of Human Resources TrainingEducation or Instruction or similar experience that allowed the applicant to acquire knowledge skill and ability to successfully execute the duties of the position. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE GENERAL EXPERIENCE Study completed in a college university junior college above the high school level may be substituted on a basic of onehalf an academic year of study for six months of experience. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE Study completed in a college university junior college above the high school level may be substituted at the rate of onehalf an academic year of study for six months of specialized experience provided the study included a minimum of six semester hours six credits per year in Human Resources Organizational Development Education or similar areas of study.
