The Starbucks experience starts in our Roasting Plants where we have a dedicated team of professional roasters and supporting process teams including planning, warehouse management, packaging, roasting, maintenance, engineering and logistics.
As a manufacturing technician, you will:
Replenish raw materials on automated packaging equipment
Respond to stoppages on secondary packaging equipment and conduct troubleshooting, jam clearing and cleaning
Perform changeovers on secondary packaging equipment and assist machine operator with changeover on primary packaging equipment
Be responsible for quality checks on secondary packages, including lot coding and aesthetics
Assist machine operator with quality checks on primary packages, including lot coding, aesthetics and seal integrity
Track output from the palletizer and respond to jams
Run the supersack loading station
Maintain product quality through adherence to good manufacturing practices, HAACP and food safety procedures, product specifications and quality procedures.
Complete tasks thoroughly and accurately to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements
Identify, report, and document if and when there is a deviation from quality, legality, or food safety standards
Demonstrate and understand safety as our core value and follow the key essentials to safety as set forth by our safety resolution; coach others to do the same
Viewed by peers as a safety champion as set forth by our safety resolution
Understand and follow established safety guidelines, consistently comply with all safety procedures (e.g. PPE, Lock Out Tag Out, Good Housekeeping, etc.)
Take an active role in handling and preventing safety incidents
Report all incidents immediately and will not move the scene of an incident
Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Obey all facility traffic control devices
Not alter or bypass any safety device
Not use or work on equipment unless authorized
Follow lock out-tag out (LOTO) procedures
Follow dock lock procedures.
Act as a safety change agent (e.g. CPR/First Aid certification; active engagement in safety committee)
Reinforce safe practices to other partners, and provide coaching when witness to unsafe practices

We'd love to hear from people with:
Production or distribution environment (1 year)
Operation of manual and automated packaging equipment
Performing quality tests using analytical tools
Using manual or automated systems to gather and record on operational and quality metrics
High school diploma/GED or 4 or more years of US military service
Basic math skills
Ability to follow verbal direction
Ability to understand written policies and guidelines, specifications and safety standards
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Internet environments
Mechanical aptitude to make minor machine adjustments and clear jams in equipment
Ability to perform quality tests using analytical tools
Ability to gather, record on operational and quality metrics, through manual or automated systems
Familiarity with British Retail Consortium (BRC), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) standards
Ability to work in accordance with quality, safety, and sanitation standards, policies and guidelines
