What You'll Get to Do:
Work within a team of Solidworks Designers, Graphic Artists, Document Coordinators, and Change Managers to produce production level Technical Data Packages that support the integration of military grade communications systems. The person supporting this position will be using basic 3D design skills (Solidworks)and 2D page layout skills in a variety of software mainly to include Solidworks, Excel, and Microsoft Visio.
More About the Role:
Work with engineers and subject matter experts (SMEs) conducting research necessary to produce Vendor Item Control Drawings (VICD), Assembly Drawings, Interconnect Diagrams, and all associated lists for production level technical data packages that adhere to MIL-STD's and ASME Y14 standards.
Create basic 3D parts and assemblies of mechanical equipment in Solidworks to validate dimensions and "fit" into overall assembly, and translate into 2D drawings with GD&T.
Work with GOTS and COTS equipment and document as related to overall system design where no Solidworks design is needed.
Prepare detailed indentured parts lists and LOMs.
Read engineering drawings and translate information for diverse audiences or edit for use in other supporting documents.
Produce basic network interconnect diagrams.
Basic photography skills, image cropping, and ability to incorporate images into documentation as needed.
Redline and make amendments to documents maintaining strict revision, documenting, and file control.
Follow and execute document review processes to obtain correct document approvals.
Participate in Physical Configuration Audits validating documents against physical equipment.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or GED. Experience: Education: High School diploma or GED.
Experience: Two (2) years of experience developing graphic/artistic presentations. One (1) year of specialized experience using commercial automated graphics systems, and desktop publishing systems. (2) years experience in Solidworks.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Knowledge of or ability to learn CorelDraw. Basic understanding of configuration management & change management practices as they relate to technical documentation.
Basic understanding of MIL-STD and ASME Y14 standards as related to engineering documentation. Familiarity with SOFTACS equipment.
