TICKET TAKER/USHER - House of Blues

Job Summary:

THE ROLE:

An usher/ticket taker greets guests, scans concert tickets, answers questions, helps to ensure safety, and engages with guests to assist with their needs before, during and after the show.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide excellent customer service and friendly guest interactions

  • Scan barcodes on tickets using a hand-held electronic device

  • Assist guests with ticketing issues

  • Assist guests in finding the correct seats

  • Assist guests with special needs, such as helping with seat relocations

  • Correctly and appropriately answer guest questions using available venue maps, seating charts, policies and day of show information sheets

  • Refer unresolved guest issues to supervisors for further investigation

  • Guide guests to exits or provide other instructions or assistance in case of emergency

  • Assist with keeping the venue safe, clean and presentable during events

  • Partner with other crew members at the end of show to store equipment, clean up and close the venue

  • Other tasks assigned by the Guest Services, Usher, Operations or General Managers

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 16 years of age or older

  • Must present unexpired original document(s) establishing identity and authorization to work in the United States

  • A clear pre-employment criminal background check is required

  • Customer service experience preferred but not required

  • Position requires constant standing, walking, climbing stairs in an outdoor environment in a variety of weather conditions (reasonable accommodations can be made)

  • Must maintain a cheerful, welcoming attitude

  • Must have excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication and teaming skills

  • Able to show good judgment, tact and diplomacy

  • Must be available to attend in-person employee orientation and training at the venue, as well as completing online training modules as assigned

  • Reliable transportation is required
