Summary

The Project Engineer is responsible for the identification, design, and implementation of engineering solutions as a support to plant production. Identify potential savings opportunities with each project, and provide troubleshooting support for production issues following project implementation. Provide support to Production, Maintenance, and Logistics groups by executing thorough and timely improvements on the production line. Lead discussions, projects, and people to full issue resolution.

Essential Duties

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ownaproblemfromconception;applyingallareasofengineeringexpertiseto obtain a workable solution. Interface with Maintenance and Production to ascertain and identify operating and maintenance problems. Conduct the engineering analysis and follow through with minor project recommendations.

  • Maintain thorough engineering standards for project execution, design, equipment standards, safety, schedule and cost control. Complete engineering projects in the smoothest and most efficient manner without causing production delays or upsets. As needed, coordinate between contractor and company to provide seamless service.

  • Prepare Capital Expenditure requests, project scope overall descriptions, and business justification for all capital expenditures. Support project spending tracking and forecasting by partnering with Accounting and Purchasing teams; provide information to superiors about changes in input costs, material costs, or project length/complexity. Assemble cost estimates for scope changes.

  • Lead Design Review, Potential Problem Analysis, and Pre Startup Safety Review meetings with appropriate team members to ensure a safe, efficient design and installation. Work to improve overall efficiency in the line. Post-installation documentation including as-builts, spare parts lists + delivery of vendor docs like manuals, etc.

  • Participate on problem solving teams and project teams as a technical resource geared towards improving the performance of existing production equipment.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to read and concentrate via computer data entry typing and proofreading

  • Must be able to climb ladders and/or stairs and walk on open grating on elevated surfaces

  • Required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch

  • Frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing

  • Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of production and office machinery

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Under This Roof, We Require

  • BS Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical) required

  • 1+ years' experience in a technical related work field.

  • Ability to travel 50%.

Under This Roof, We Also Value

  • Bachelor of Science in engineering discipline

  • 1+ years experience project management in a manufacturing environment

  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering techniques, advanced proficiency in Google Suite, RS Logix and Rockwell Automation training.

Annual Salary Range: 72,000-92,000
