Title: Creative & Design Intern (In-Person, Unpaid, For College Credit)
Location: New York, NY (On-Site)
The Role
Roc Nation, a Live Nation joint venture , is looking for a highly motivated, organized, and enthusiastic individual, who is interested in learning more about the live entertainment and music industries to join Roc Nation Creative this Spring. This internship will allow students to gain first-hand experience in a variety of areas, including but not limited to executing design projects, collaborate on creative initiatives and assist with special creative projects and the day- to-day design needs of the team. The internship offers exciting hands-on experience and the opportunity to gain new skills.
Qualifications
You are curious, collaborative, and excited to learn new skills
You're a problem solver with an instinct to think through things by making-a craftsperson who sweats the details of building high quality, elegant, and intuitive design that puts users at the center of the experience
Prior work experience isn't required, but you must have a portfolio that demonstrates your ability to think creatively and execute a range of design artifacts (websites, mobile apps, posters, logos, etc.). It's ok if you only have school projects to share, as long as you are prepared to describe your thought process
You have some proficiency with a variety of tools (Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, Zeplin, etc.) and you aren't afraid to try new software and teach yourself new tools, digital or not
If you have experience with design research, content strategy or creative technology - be sure to mention it
You have a strong command of the English language-written, read, and spoken-and can clearly articulate the rationale behind your design decisions
Responsibilities :
Assist Lead Designer in asset production ranging from digital, motion graphics, branding, merchandise, etc.
Contribute creative efforts across all our clients (Sports, Digital, Team Roc, EQ, etc.)
Develop an efficient communication process between, creative director, lead designer, and clients
Educational Points:
Working with a wide range of clients / deliverable types
Time management
Project management skills
Verbal and written communication
Adobe creative suite additional skills
Project presentation
Handling work critique / edits
What we're looking for:
Basic understanding of Adobe Creative suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects)
Genuine interest in commercial arts
Willingness to learn
Organized in schedule and processes
Motion graphics capability highly favorable
Basic understanding of typography, color, and design language
Ability to work with direction from creative team / clients
Initiative to figure out creative solutions on your own if no direction is provided
This internship is available for the Spring semester. This is a non-paid internship, with flexible hours (minimum of 16 hours per week) to reflect your necessary college credit requirements.
COVID-19 vaccination series and booster shot is a mandatory requirement for this position.
