The Division Vice President, Independent Sales is a senior leadership role leading a geographic division of 600-700 stores, with a volume in excess of 650M. Responsible for ensuring the division executes company plans and initiatives by leading a team of six Directors. Ensures achievement of market share growth while influencing top organizational leaders on overall company strategy and initiatives. Each Vice President must be committed to inspiring our team, helping our Independent Store Partners succeed, and grow our business with profitability and integrity.
The DVP - South territory is a multi-state territory including: Western North Carolina, Up-State South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Louisiana, Western West Virginia, and parts of Kansas, Illinois, and the Bahamas. To be considered, applicants must reside within the territory in close proximity to a major airport.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Partner and work cross functionally with Territory Directors and Managers, Supply Chain, Marketing, IT, Support teams to set and execute the company's key strategies in the Division
Make decisions based on insights from customers, division leadership and team members, that aim to meet and exceed customer needs and ultimately gain market share
Own P/L and financial statements and create plans to make solid business decision to hit Sales and Profitability Targets
Establish and maintains key independent partner relationships using innovation, technology, and collaboration that drives retention and growth
Achieve core comp sales growth targets, and new business objectives by building and retaining a high performance work team, resulting in increased market share for the Enterprise
Travel Lead and Coach with Directors to ensure planning and execution of our initiatives and visit with high spend independent partners to ensure meeting expectations to achieve their business strategy
Strategize to remove organizational level barriers across division by collaborating cross functionally
Enable managers to achieve organizational goals in a timely manner
Create and execute efficiencies with new business to ensure profitability and stability
Align Integrate Enterprise technology to revolutionize the sales team to drive internal efficiencies and create a seamless Store Partner and Professional Customer Experience
Create budgets and make responsible financial decisions/ Leverage financial tools to inform business outcomes and drive action
Partner with Independent customers to make decisions regarding their financial health
Collaborate with Finance and Supply Chain to ensure collection of accounts receivables for 85M-100M
Maintaining a deep knowledge of AAP and CQ strategies
Identify promotional opportunities and build a succession plan of strong, diverse talent
Collaborate with senior leadership team to develop a strategic vision for the organization, and make key decisions regarding customers and team members
Must be a change management agent and drive direction and alignment to division team
Use influence and status as a platform to inspire enthusiasm and mobilize action to realize the organization vision within the Sales Team, Support Team and the CSC Team
Strategize to identify issues and provide large scale action plans to improve
Essential Job Skills Necessary for Success as a Division Vice President
Strong Leadership and ability to drive change management
Speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively and build strong relationships with
customers, peers and senior leadership
Strong presentation and communications skills, including ability to write reports, business
correspondence and procedural manuals
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Hyperion and other computer-based tools
Ability to work with mathematical concepts, including creation of budgets and P&L management and
analysis; apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
including graphing and the interpretation of mathematical modeling
Knowledge of sales/retail management best practices including sales, customer service, inventory
management, risk reduction and Human Resources skills
Think strategically, analyze issues and options; effectively manage and facilitate change
Effectively delegate and supervise multiple projects throughout the territory to ensure timely and quality
Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed
Ability to travel extensively throughout the division and organization on a weekly basis with extensive overnight stays
Prior Experiences that Set a Division Vice President up for Success
10 plus years sales leadership experience in a fast-paced environment working with independent/franchise owners
Proven track record in meeting sales, profitability and key metric targets in a multi-channel environment
Ability to work in a large geographic area with 75% travel expectations
Education
Bachelor's degree in business management or related field
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must have a valid driver's license
ASE certification preferred, but not required
