Cracker Barrel is seeking a UX Designer to join the Home Office to create and evlove the user experiences for Cracker Barrel's digital properties including our websites and mobile applications. The ideal candidate will have proven experience developing commercial, customer facing digital experiences, is comfortable building and establishing new Digital teams, and works well in a cross-functional Agile team.
Work closely with the cross-functional team to collaboratively design intuitive user experiences for both Cracker Barrel Guests and Employees.
Evolve a corporate UX design language in partnership with our internal agency focused on simplicity that embodies our digital personas while adopting the best practices of industry leading UX standards such as Google Materials or Apple iOS Human Interface guidelines.
Ensure design vision is executed consistently across all digital properties including web, mobile web, and mobile applications (iOS & Android).
Create solutions to complex interface and interaction design challenges. Find intuitive solutions to core user interactions, with an emphasis on elegance and simplicity.
Bring user experience design concepts to life by creating deliverables including user flows, wireframes, mocks, and prototypes as part of an Agile development team.
Deliver design assets for new features/functionalities for Cracker Barrel digital experiences.
Oversee user research and usability testing throughout the design process including A/B testing of proposed functionality.
Iterate aggressively to arrive at solution that exceed expectations and create points of digital differentiation.
Communicate design intent to both internal and external teams with an emphasis on explaining the design approach and advocacy for users' needs.
Evangelize the Digital Team on new user experience patterns and practices planned for adoption at Cracker Barrel.
Be the champion of the end user in all aspects of the Agile Scrum process.
Provide UX thought leadership to product reviews and oversee the enforcement of UX standards
Hands-on experience with user centric design.
Proven track record of overseeing the conversion of prototypes and designs into finished solutions that exceed expectations.
Highly knowledgeable in responsive design and usability.
Skilled in user research with strong abilities to express results in the form of prototypes.
Well versed in common UX guidelines including Google Materials design, Apple iOS Human Interface guidelines, and Microsoft Fluent design system.
Skilled in bringing a prototype to life in hi-fidelity (coded) or lo-fidelity (clickable wireframe).
Capable of delivering initial digital assets (HTML5, CSS, images) for development teams to utilize in delivering the finished solutions.
Ability to communicate stance on design perspective and champion it throughout the organization
Strong leadership skills in building consensus across competing development teams and influencing outcomes outside of his/her direct control.
Ability to concisely document and express user experience standards that can be readily understood and applied by both leadership and developers.
Experience with Common UX Tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Axure, Sketch, XD, Invision, Marvel, or other relevant tools.
Restaurant and/or retail experience preferred.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree with a background in design and/or technology.
2+ years of hands-on experience with user centric design ideally in the consumer space especially retail, restaurants, or other hospitality industries.
