Job Summary

Virginia Electric and Power Company (Dominion Energy Virginia) seeks a Sr. Engineer for our Glen Allen, VA location. Duties include: perform power flow analysis in accordance with NERC Reliability Standards, PJM planning criteria, and electric transmission planning criteria. Develop transmission projects to address all identified reliability criteria violations in the company's planning area for new customer load interconnections, and generator interconnections. Sponsor the conceptual phase of all transmission projects in the company's planning region, including presenting the need and defending the project with internal and external stakeholders and supporting the process to obtain all the necessary project approvals from PJM and the State Corporation Commission. Serve as a technical lead during study phase of projects to ensure that projects' scopes are comprehensive and developed in a timely manner. Resolve technical issues that may arise in different phases of a project. Support development, maintenance, and enhancement of computer-based tools for the electric transmission planning team as needed. The qualified candidate will possess a master's degree in electrical engineering and three years experience as an engineer encompassing stability, flow analysis, protection and transmission duties in a utility company.
