TheAccounts Receivable SpecialistatBatteries Pluswill assist in ensuring that the company receives payment for goods and services offered to clients. TheAccounts Receivable Specialistprepares, records, verifies, analyzes and reports accounts receivable transactions, and posts customer payments on a timely basis. This role will also maintain and reconcile accounts receivable ledger accounts, financial statements and reports, in addition to potentially providing a variety of credit and collection functions.

Responsibilities:
Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
Creates invoices according to company practices; submits invoices to customers.
Maintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions.
Manage and maintain assigned customers to keep aging at an acceptable level and to minimize bad debt.
Assists in identifying potential problem accounts and sends follow-up correspondence. May produce reports of accounts that are in arrears and analyses of bad debt, and prepares analyses and reconciliations of bill runs.
Research and resolve customer disputes as well as payment and billing discrepancies. Communicate escalation needs to Sr. Accounts Receivable Analyst per collection guidelines.
Review and analyze customer credit history and risks. Communicate as necessary to management.
Post and reconcile AR cash daily; ensure accuracy of general ledger and account coding.
Review, prepare, analyze and report to the management team on required weekly and monthly reports.
Review and Process invoices and credits and other miscellaneous transactions.
Monitor and make decisions for release of credit and product holds within policy limits.
Provide credit reference information.
Cross-train and provide back up for various AR department tasks for all lines of business.
Assist with internal audit of monthly sales tax compliance.
Research, review and manage compliance of various state sales tax rules and regulations.
Ensure sales tax compliance for timely and accurate updates within systems to ensure proper charge and/or exemptions.
Assist with the preparation of annual financial and sales tax audit requirements.
Responsible for reconciling specific general ledger accounts and resolving variances.
May be required to work additional hours during peak periods.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
2+ years of related accounting experience, including credit and collections
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Accounting
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Google Suite knowledge
