Our client, in the life insurance industry is seeking a Business Analyst to join their team.
Job Title: Business Analyst
Location: Livonia, MI
Pay Range: $50-52/hr DOE
6 Month Contract - possible extension or conversion
Hybrid- 2x/week onsite in Livonia, MI
What's the Job?
Lead Business and Project teams in Story Mapping Sessions
Create Persona's that bring focus and direction to the creation of story cards and other project artifacts.
Work closely with PO on business strategies and project priorities. Be aligned with the PO to communicate the product vision.
Document requirements in story cards and organize story cards in backlog
Balance the right amount of business and technical analysis necessary for the team to be successful in planning both the project and individual sprints.
Will Interact with both the business and technical organizations
Assist teams members (QA team, development teams and vendors) to provide acceptance criteria for business objectives.
Assist in validation of technical deliverables for completeness, accuracy and quality.
Create Wireframes, mockups and possibly prototypes
Utilize Web concepts such as HTML and CSS
Function as a liaison and subject matter expert between assigned business units and IT resources. Assist the IT team in providing analytical support, facilitating research, questions, issues or other needs presented by the business units.
Identify non-functional needs such as usability, performance, security, portability and service levels.
Proactively work with all roles on the project team to provide support as needed to ensure overall quality and success of initiatives.
Escalate and inform PM and team of potential scope changes/conflicts
Participate with business readiness activities
Maintain a high level of knowledge and expertise relative to the clients Life and its products, systems, and programs, and business processes
Handle additional assignments related to area of expertise, fill in for the Project Manager when required
Consistently researches and attends trainings to keep their skillset current with today and future needs of the business
What's Needed?
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or a related required.
4 - 5 years' experience as a Business Analyst
3 - 5 Experience in Agile project methodologies preferred
Experience with persona development and creating persona-based scenarios
Drafting wire frames and development of storyboards preferred.
Capable of creating process flow diagrams
Expertise in Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
Insurance industry expertise preferred
Familiarity with SQL and understanding of data flow diagrams preferred.
