Supervisor, Launch Fabrication Technicians at SpaceX

SUPERVISOR, LAUNCH FABRICATION TECHNICIANS
The Launch Hardware Fluids and Fabrication team is rapidly growing and we are in need of a highly skilled and experienced team supervisor to lead a group of highly motivated fabricators. The fabrication team has been instrumental in the successful implementation of critical projects and upgrades at all of our launch sites including the new Starship launch facility, all of our Falcon 9 and Dragon recovery vessels, and multiple state of the art facilities. This role will lead the build of advanced fluids systems and more.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise and provide daily support to the Launch Hardware fluids/fabrication team
Assess candidates and provide recommendations in the hiring process
Accurately assess project scope and make determinations for required resources
Responsible for planning and scheduling work, assigning work, and assessing completed work
Ensure employees have the training, tools and materials they need to carry out their duties
Effectively drive the team to efficiently execute tasks that achieve project milestones with very challenging and dynamic schedules
Monitor and approve employee time keeping records
Communicate how successful performance will be measured and provide collaborative direction to team members; recommend performance standards and ratings
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
2+ years of experience in a leadership role
5+ years of professional experience in a production or manufacturing environment
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate degree
5+ years of experience as a technician with fluids systems
Knowledge of high pressure pneumatic, hydraulic and cryogenic fluids systems
Knowledge of all types of inspection equipment
Understanding of fluids system schematics and procedures related to launch operations
Understanding of the orbital tube welding process, equipment, inspection standards and failure modes
Skill in operating and manipulating machinery and various hand and power tools requiring manual dexterity
Ability to utilize precision measuring instruments
Ability to be diplomatic with a variety of individuals across the organizational infrastructure
Intermediate skill level using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)
Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral
Ability to work at elevated heights
Physical effort including standing, lifting and carrying moderately heavy materials or equipment (15 to 50 lbs.)
Typically exposed to work in extreme outdoor environments - heat, cold, rain
Work occasionally performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
