The Director, Software Engineering & Integrations is a key role within the Engineering organization as a thought leader, transformational leader, influencer, and champion of best practices and standards in the software engineering and integrations development & delivery area. They should have excellent leadership skills showing commitment, strategic foresight, planning, integrity, and change management to drive the organization towards continual success. The role is responsible for developing, owning, releasing, maintaining applications, driving, and influencing a software engineering & integrations practice and creating coding & integration standards, and being the voice of software engineering with a strategic mind set. _ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS_ * Own and drive the strategic vision and the technologies required to ensure industry-leading software engineering and integrations delivery of solutions. * Translate the high-level strategic vision into clear and actionable organizational and technical roadmap for Software Engineering and Integrations team * Represent the Software Engineering group in conversations with customers and stakeholders. * Lead (and recruit as needed) Engineering staff to evaluate and adapt new technologies, design software solutions to deliver on business needs and strategic vision. * Lead the implementation of a metric driven software engineering culture, aligning them with business/customer needs with a 'customer first approach' to development & delivery. * Drives continuous process improvement and innovation by identifying inefficiencies in current processes; improving agility of the team; and adopting industry trends for innovation. * Align with business stakeholders to understand their needs clearly and articulate the same to the development team to deliver as promised. * Serve as a subject matter expert in processes and methodologies with the ability to adapt and improvise in different situations. * Drives the development of stable, resilient, and scalable software platforms aligned with company goals. * Drives continuous testing improvements across software lifecycle from unit, integration, QA, UAT, to automation testing in collaboration with quality engineering leadership. * Drive continuous improvements to 24/7 production support, working closely with customers and service management teams. * Own the writing and presenting of presentations around software engineering strategies and best practices to internal and external stakeholders. * Partner with Architects, Quality Engineering, DevOps Engineering, Cloud, Security managers to provide guidance using *JOB REQUIREMENTS* * Partners with cross-functional leaders to ensure technology solutions built by the engineering team align to overall architectural and business standards. * Provide deep attention to detail during the full software development life cycle, from conception, design, implementation and testing to documentation, delivery, and maintenance. * Experience in the retail/CPG domain with exposure to Digital, Retail, Wholesale, Supply Chain, Order Management is a plus. * Experience with Integration platforms such as Boomi or MuleSoft with a proven success to optimize & manage the integrations. * Experience with Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) platforms such as Amazon Event Bridge or Tibco with proven success to optimize and manage event driven applications. * Experienced large-scale size of projects involved multi-systems with various technologies and business lines with ESB/Integration tools such as Boomi with a proven success to optimize & manage the integrations. * Experienced in building solutions with agile principles and a strong background in cloud technologies, Microservices Architecture, RESTful APIs, AWS, Kafka, RDS and running DevOps using GitHub, Jenkins, Jira. * Strong programming experience in Java, Scala, Python, .NET, or Node.js a plus. * Customer focused: You are passionate about building delightful user experiences and creating sponsoring and leading team members through change * Manage Software Engineering team through defined key objective indicators and specified goals that align to the company's direction and objectives. * Evaluate and refine engineering processes to streamline development, reduce time to delivery, increase quality, and promote a culture of excellence within the organization *EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE* * Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field required. * 10+ years of experience leading software development and integrations at other software product companies. * 5+ years of web, backend & integration experience including API, UI, database, and integrations for varied application systems. * 5 years' experience in developing scalable applications and architectural standards * At least 5 years' experience in people management * 3+ years' experience with Cloud such as AWS. * Experience working with Docker containers, microservices, and serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda and Fargate. * Driven, and results-oriented with exceptional communications skills to influence and connect at a Manager/Director level. * Experience developing event-drive, zero touch, CI/CD delivery pipelines resulting in high release velocity. * Hands on experience in AWS like ECS, EC2, Fargate etc. * Experience with leading globally distributed Software Engineering teams, test driven software practice and leading production support teams. * Ability to clearly convey deep technical concerns to a non-technical audience * Able to connect and articulate the links between technical capability and business need * Strong self-starter, excellent communicator, strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines across a broad portfolio of
