TheTraining & Safety SupervisoratBatteries Pluswill create, execute and evaluate training programs that can effectively be delivered through a wide variety of mediums to support the Distribution Center operations. As theTraining & Safety Supervisor, you will partner with the leadership team to create structure and training programs for all associates at the Distribution Center.

This position is located onsite at theBatteries PlusNational Distribution Center in Glendale, WI. As theTraining & Safety Supervisor, you will have a minimum of two years warehouse experience with experience developing training materials and leading training. Responsibilities:

Training Development

  • Organize and create structure to ensure that all DC associates obtain training in relation to facility policies, procedures and safety.

  • Become well-versed in all department processes and expectations. Continuously review SOPs and adapt/change training as needed.

  • Proactively work with the Management team to identify issues, outline deliverables, expectations and risks, to include specific training needs for staff. Assist supervisors/managers in identifying needs for cross-training, execute through shift trainers.

  • Develop a training scorecard to allow managers to monitor and measure effectiveness of all training programs.

  • Create high quality deliverables within project budget and policy deadlines.

  • Utilize a variety of the training methodologies, techniques, concepts, learning tools, tests/quizzes and practices to ensure comprehension and maximum effectiveness of training programs.

  • Develop and conduct safety training modules that will help drive operation's safety initiatives and meet OSHA requirements.

  • Collaborate with Training and HR departments to identify training resources that are currently available, and to meet training needs beyond the scope of this position.

    Execution

  • Lead in-person training classes and one-on-one training as needed.

  • Demonstrate and communicate proper pick, pack and ship job functions, DC rules, and safety information to temps, new hires, and existing employees as needed.

  • Set up individuals in the WMS. Set up individuals and assign appropriate online modules in the LMS.

  • Get appropriate sign-offs and maintain a training tracking system to ensure that all temp and permanent associates are being trained in a timely and effective manner.

  • Identify and track equipment training needs and ensure all certifications are current. Facilitate "train-the-trainer" activities.

  • Utilize Temp Conversion Tracker to determine if current training is working, and to advise Management on whether or not to move individuals to a permanent status.

    Leadership

  • Work with the HR Partner to schedule new hire orientation and training of new employees.

  • Standardize, facilitate and ensure completion of new hire orientation for all shifts.

  • Provide ongoing coaching, development and recognition to reinforce learning and help drive efficiencies and greater production metrics.

  • Provide input into performance evaluations and disciplinary action. Assist with placing associates in roles that match their strengths.

    Safety

  • Educate all staff in understanding OSHA regulations and standards. Keep apprised of developments in federal and state safety laws.

  • Conduct safety audits and report hazardous conditions and practices to management.

  • Conduct safety training and monitor effectiveness. Participate in new-hire onboarding.

  • Evaluate operations and implement safety training programs and changes to processes.

  • Hold Safety meetings and work with management and safety committees to achieve predetermined goals and objectives. Participate in executive safety meetings, as needed.

  • Report RIR, DART numbers and develop trends on a monthly basis.

  • Demonstrate and follow all safety procedures. Work with HR to ensure that the safety manual remains current and relevant.

  • Perform accident investigations, and report all accidents and incidents in a timely manner. Maintain OSHA 300 form for the DC and comply with reporting and posting regulations.

  • Assist HR with completion of Worker Comp claim forms and reporting to the carriers.

  • Work with HR and managers to ensure employees with restricted duties due to a workplace injury are returned to work as soon as possible.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Health and Safety or related field

  • 2+ years of warehouse experience with experience developing training materials and leading training.

  • Ability to become forklift 'train-the-trainer- certified

  • Primarily 1st Shift Hours but flexible to adjust schedule to meet the needs of the business, including peak seasons and special events. Must be able to float across 3 operational shifts and departments to address training needs.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous supervisory experience

  • Familiarity with a variety of warehousing and logistics concepts, practices and procedures

  • Knowledge of different training and learning methodology

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suites and/or WMS technology
