As a Tableau and Excel Expert, in Chantilly VA , you will be responsible for leveraging both Tableau and Excel to transform data into actionable insights that inform decision-making across the organization. You will design and produce complex dashboards, reports, and visualizations that help our customer understand performance metrics, trends, and outcomes. Working with senior management as a Tableau and Excel expert means you play a crucial role in the strategic decision-making process by providing valuable insights through data. Balancing technical acumen with interpersonal skills and strategic thinking is essential for success in such a role.

Qualifications

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience within the last ten (10) years

  • Create and maintain advanced dashboards and visualizations in Tableau, ensuring they are user-friendly and aligned with business objectives

  • Perform deep-dive analyses using advanced Excel functions (e.g., PivotTables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, and macros)

  • Integrate Tableau with Excel and other data sources to create cohesive reporting systems

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions that meet their data analysis needs

  • Ensure data integrity by implementing validation checks and data governance best practices within Tableau and Excel

  • Develop and maintain documentation related to dashboards, reports, and data models.

  • Keep abreast of the latest Tableau and Excel features and best practices, and integrate them into our BI.

  • Understand the strategic goals of the organization and how data visualization and analysis can support these objectives

  • Align your work with the key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics that matter most to senior management

  • Provide data-driven insights to assist senior management in making informed decisions.

  • Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights that are relevant to high-level strategy

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

  • Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Information Management, Information Security, Data Forensics, Computer Science, Statistics, Business, or a related field

  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with other data analysis tools are highly desirable

  • Ability to interpret data and translate it into compelling stories for diverse audiences

  • Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities, with a track record of working effectively with cross-functional teams

  • Provide data-driven insights to assist senior management in making informed decisions.

  • The capability to dissect complex problems and datasets, identifying patterns, trends, and insights that are not immediately obvious

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to finding and addressing potential issues before they escalate

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a straightforward manner

  • The ability to build and maintain relationships with members of senior management, understanding their individual needs and communication preferences

  • Tact and diplomacy in handling sensitive information and in discussions where data may challenge existing beliefs or practices

  • A track record of delivering high-quality work within a fast-paced, results-driven environment

  • Tableau certification and advanced Excel training are nice to have but not required
