Responsibilities:
Answers, evaluates, and prioritizes incoming telephone, voice mail, e-mail, and in-person requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies.
Applies knowledge of computer software and hardware to assist users in resolving problems.
Installs or assists with the installation and set-up of new hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.
Coordinates service or replacement of defective products from vendors and manufacturers.
Maintains knowledge of technical innovations, trends, and best practices.
Drafts or revises user training manuals and procedures.
Maintains logs of support services provided in the ticketing system or other appropriate database.
Develops training materials and/or provides onsite training as requested.
Interviews users to collect information about problems and leads users through diagnostic procedures to determine source of error.
Determines whether the problem is caused by hardware such as modem, printer, cables, or telephone.
Handles problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow-up for routine user problems, referring more complex problems to supervisor or technical staff.
Logs and tracks calls and maintains history records and related problem documentation.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 1 years experience troubleshooting application software (accounting, distribution, retail) in a customer service environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Thorough understanding of technology commonly used by clients and employees
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to explain technical problems to non technical employees
