Job Description:
UPS is seeking an innovative, self-motivated intern with a passion for technology and creative problem-solving to join our Buildings and Systems Engineering (BaSE) team during the upcoming semester (Summer 2023). The BaSE OTSEC Intern contributes to improving current systems by maintaining IT/OT hardware and software solutions. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of core Windows infrastructure technologies, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Office Suite skills, project management skills, and possesses interpersonal skills to work with various UPS functions/vendors. This position performs other career related responsibilities as assigned.
Responsibilities
Review Windows vulnerabilities and formulate remediation plans
Audit security groups for servers and workstations
Update the site with new information and share it with UPS stakeholders
Creates scripts to automate daily activities
Submit and follow up on requests (i.e., RFSC, SMC Incidents)
Follow up on project action items
Develop and maintain technical documentation
Strong PowerShell or other scripting experience
Troubleshooting in-house applications
Able to take responsibility and will proactively look to identify and improve existing processes and practices within the environment
Help create project timelines to ensure timely deliverables
Preferences
Demonstrates excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
Possesses intermediate MySQL and scripting skills (PowerShell, batch)
Experience with vulnerability management products
Installation, configuration, and administration of virtualization infrastructures running on VMware suite products
Displays ability to distinguish between -big picture- concepts and detailed facts while ensuring tasks are completed accurately and with an appropriate level of detail to impact end goals
Recent graduate or pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related
Qualifications:
Rising college Junior or Senior, or recent graduate within the last 24 months with a Bachelor's Degree or international equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
Excellent written and oral communications and interpersonal skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook)
Basic MySQL skills
