GENERAL FUNCTION

The Sr Manager of Operations Finance will be responsible for evaluating processes, defining best practices and managing change in operations finance. This role will be responsible for the development of lab budgets, forecasts, estimates, etc. In this position, the Sr Manager works closely with both operational and finance leadership to ensure financial commitments are met. This position will be responsible for monthly variance analyses and will prepare/oversees the necessary activities to ensure accurate financial closures. In this position, the Sr Manager also prepares and analyzes financial reports/KPIs with operational leadership and drives accountability to financial commitments by tracking actions/decisions.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Primary support for Columbus lab facilities evaluating and implementing necessary changes to standardize financial processes.

  • Validates and monitors financial/operational performance; provides business insights through variance research, trend analysis, etc, and identifies opportunities for improvement

  • Proactively engages with management to control costs/mitigate risks and meet financial objectives

  • Supports the month-end close process by analyzing results and preparing journal entries/accruals

  • Develops, maintains, documents and improves upon financial models

  • Coordinates information gathering within and across functional areas in support of financial reports, analyses and presentations required by management.

  • Identifies opportunities to automate, streamline and improve processes/tools.

  • Prepares management reports to meet both local and corporate requirements.

  • Ensures appropriate financial controls and adherence to accounting standards, internal policies, procedures, etc.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting

  • 8+ years work experience in Finance with at least 2 years in a manufacturing support role

  • Proficiency with Excel and SAP (or other ERP system)

  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in the financial analysis discipline

  • Effective communication and listening skills.

  • Continuous improvement mindset; pro-actively identifying opportunities to improve both process and/or the business

  • Strong learning agility; ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances

  • Effectively manages time and effort to achieve necessary tasks given shifting priorities

  • Proven experience working independently

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA and/or professional certification (CPA, CMA)

  • Experience in a manufacturing support role
