A Day in the Life of a Resident & Public Relations Director:
As the Liberty Military Housing Resident & Public Relations Director, you will oversee all resident communications and public relations for Liberty Military Housing (LMH) and be responsible for growing and maintaining the image of the LMH brand. Your role will ensure that all official company statements, press releases, external company notifications, etc., align with our corporate mission and core values and will identify local and national media opportunities, maintain existing media relations, and promote positive public awareness of LMH through enhanced external communication techniques and strategies. Through collaboration with national support, regional operations, residents, commands, government partner public affairs offices, and national and local news media outlets, your role will improve customer experience through consistent messaging. To be successful in your role, you will need a deep understanding of public relations and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Previous experience handling press conferences, military media relations, or experience at a public relations agency is preferred.
Your Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Global management of resident and external corporate communications for Liberty Military Housing.
Develop and implement external communications/publicity strategies for LMH, including crisis management, events, non-profit charity, corporate partnerships, recruiting, etc.
Create and maintain an external public relations plan, including budgets, timelines, social media, etc.
Pitch story ideas and content to media: draft press releases, pitches, case studies, white papers, and media summaries.
Build and maintain relationships with media and contacts public affairs offices across the LMH portfolio.
Manage media requests in a timely and professional manner.
Coach team members in public relations/communicating with all stakeholders to include the media.
Ensure all communication is cohesive with the brand image.
Measure PR program impacts using regular reporting.
Organize, schedule, and prepare key leaders for press interviews.
Maintain and enhance communication policies and processes to ensure company consistency, portfolio-wide.
Maintain and enhance company standards on external communications.
Collaborate with Military Housing Association partners to enhance the MHA brand.
Create and maintain monthly resident & partner newsletter to ensure operations and business goals are clearly and consistently communicated.
Oversee content creation for a national social presence to ensure official brand messages are enhanced and accurately represent the brand.
Create partnerships with organizations that serve the military community.
Enhance and maintain resident communication templates and resident lifecycle in a customer relationship management app.
Develop and implement communications coaching for LMH team members.
What You Need for Success:
Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or related field.
3-5 years of experience in public relations or corporate communications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organization skills: ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
Strong working knowledge of a variety of public relations software.
Proven ability to develop, implement, and execute successful public relations campaigns.
