The Supervisor Purchasing is an entry-level leader that manages the day-to-day operations of a purchasing team. This role will be responsible for managing and optimizing the procurement process to ensure the timely acquisition of goods and services at the best possible value.

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to optimize supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting processes.

  • Identify and qualify new suppliers, conducting supplier evaluations and performance reviews to ensure alignment with company standards and objectives.

  • Negotiate and manage supplier contracts and agreements, ensuring favorable terms, pricing, and conditions that support the company's goals and objectives.

  • Monitor contract compliance and performance, resolving issues and discrepancies as needed to maintain positive supplier relationships.

  • Collaborate with inventory management teams to optimize inventory levels and minimize stockouts, excess inventory, and carrying costs.

  • Forecast demand and work closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and goods to support production schedules and customer demands.

  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements to drive efficiencies and reduce procurement costs while maintaining quality and service levels.

  • Analyze purchasing data and market trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction, value enhancement, and risk mitigation.

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering open communication, collaboration, and mutual trust.

  • Address supplier performance issues promptly, working with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and implement corrective actions as needed.

  • Perform other duties as needed.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION :

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

  • 4-6 years' relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 0-3 years of management experience preferred.

  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.

  • High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.
