The Supervisor Purchasing is an entry-level leader that manages the day-to-day operations of a purchasing team. This role will be responsible for managing and optimizing the procurement process to ensure the timely acquisition of goods and services at the best possible value.
Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to optimize supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting processes.
Identify and qualify new suppliers, conducting supplier evaluations and performance reviews to ensure alignment with company standards and objectives.
Negotiate and manage supplier contracts and agreements, ensuring favorable terms, pricing, and conditions that support the company's goals and objectives.
Monitor contract compliance and performance, resolving issues and discrepancies as needed to maintain positive supplier relationships.
Collaborate with inventory management teams to optimize inventory levels and minimize stockouts, excess inventory, and carrying costs.
Forecast demand and work closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and goods to support production schedules and customer demands.
Implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements to drive efficiencies and reduce procurement costs while maintaining quality and service levels.
Analyze purchasing data and market trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction, value enhancement, and risk mitigation.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, fostering open communication, collaboration, and mutual trust.
Address supplier performance issues promptly, working with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
Perform other duties as needed.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION :
Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
4-6 years' relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
0-3 years of management experience preferred.
