ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN - 2ND SHIFT
The Additive Manufacturing Technician will support 3D printing technology for production of components used on the Falcon 9 rocket, the Dragon spacecraft and the Raptor engine. The technicians on this team are versatile, highly skilled, dedicated, and efficient with their work. Each team member will wear several hats in an effort to get the job done no matter what. The ideal candidate does not worry about the title, but rather the goal of the business and the company, always pushing to support the needs of the business to make it successful.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Always ensure procedures are followed in order to deliver defect free hardware
Keep a clean, organized, and thoroughly maintained work space
Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications and/or engineering requirements
Set up and operation of various 3D metal printing machines
Full support of all post printing operations as well as supporting department goals and metrics
Develop and implement efficiency improvement projects
Maintain consumable supply inventory, and complete cycle counts
Independently perform verifications and document results in a clear, precise, and complete manner
Assist engineers with development build ups or tear downs
Operate equipment such as, drills, lathes, and CNC machines
Complete production builds per operating schedule, and support part flow through process as needed to support business goals for quality and on time delivery metrics
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
3+ years of manufacturing experience
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Ability to read, interpret and work from drawings, controlled documentation and processes such as: layout drawings, mechanical drawings, assembly procedures/work instructions; schematics, engineering drawings, and parts list
Experience working in the military or at an aviation manufacturing company (spacecraft, aircraft, etc.)
Experience driving engagement with others, taking initiative, and helping push the team to new levels
Proficient with computers, the ability to use MS Office, shop floor management software (ERP) and related programs
Strong computer literacy skills with an understanding of how to maximize current technologies
Excellent communication skills
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to work all shifts, overtime and/or weekends as needed. Nominal hours - 2nd shift: 3:30 PM - 2:00 AM
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
