The IT Support role refers to the services and assistance provided to individuals who encounter technical issues or require help with their computer systems, software applications, hardware, networks, and IT-related problems. IT support professionals play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of technology in educational settings.
Responsibilities
Identify and diagnose technical problems, such as software errors, hardware malfunctions, network issues, or security breaches.
Resolve technical issues efficiently and effectively, either through remote assistance or by providing on-site support when necessary.
Offer basic training to users on how to use software applications, hardware devices, and IT tools effectively.
Maintain clear and professional communication with users, providing updates and explanations during the support process.
If an issue cannot be resolved at the first level of support, escalate it to higher-level technical support or relevant departments while keeping users informed.
Assist students, faculty, and staff with access to IT services provided.
All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Experience
AAS degree in Computer Science or a related field (ECPI graduates strongly encouraged to apply)
0-5 years previous experience as a consumer support technician
Skills/Abilities
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Detail oriented
Ability to lift 5-25 pounds safely
