JMT's Highways group is looking for a dynamic individual to be responsible for preparing plans from the provided engineering sketches and details for projects.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Transfer engineering sketches and details to plans utilizing AutoCAD or MicroStation
Makes basic engineering computations and prepares and revises specifications.
Make quality control corrections to contract drawings
Prepare exhibits for reports, public meetings or presentations
Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities
Required SkillsRequired Experience
0-5 years of experience in CAD drafting for engineering or related field
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of design and drafting procedures
Preferred Experience
Technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting
Experience with OpenRoads Designer, InRoads, Geopak or other 3D modeling software
Experience developing construction plans for highway design projects
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Work, Excel, Powerpoint and Project is beneficial
Experience with Adobe, Bluebeam and photo editors is beneficial
Working Conditions
Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
