The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a data & grocery pricing analyst providing essential analytical and pricing execution support for the DeCA's centralized category management function. Position responsibilities include: This position is located in the Defense Commissary Agency (DECA) HQ, Sales, Marketing and Logistics Group, Strategic Revenue Management Office. Executes and refines a retail pricing strategy across categories with strategic and financial goals defines by senior leadership. Calculates factors which drive revenue, margins and savings. Provides frameworks, recommendations and subject matter expertise, to guide and support pricing decisions. To qualify for this position your resume and supporting documents must show that you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level or equivalent to at least GS-12 under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military. Ability to perform pricing and market analysis and coordinate pricing for DeCA's products and/or service in order to maximize savings, optimize revenue and meet marketing, financial and corporate growth objectives. Comprehensive knowledge of retail grocery accounting, finance analysis, pricing, revenue optimization, or economics is required in order to execute financial models to access and build effective retail pricing structures. Knowledge of an experience in commercial retail grocery industry and pricing strategies is required advised in order to compile and review internal and external data leverage optimization tools to make informed pricing recommendations. Knowledge of grocery store-based price elasticity and discrete choice pricing studies. Comprehensive knowledge of and experience with specific commercial retail grocery pricing concepts such as price elasticity, transaction profitability assessment, margin and revenue analysis, price band analysis, and price waterfall analysis, or equivalent relevant experience in professional consulting services. QUALITY RANKING FACTORS: Possesses knowledge of Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) market research, including established business, new product and new business introductions. This knowledge is used to conduct intensive data driven studies to support the pricing function and the category at large. Possesses knowledge of advanced retail grocery analytics (pricing, marketing mix, market structure and annual sales plan), financial measurements, syndicated sales tools, databases, forecasting, and and understanding of industry category management practices and internal CPG processes: Sales, Marketing, Finance, Strategic Planning, Discrete Product Groups, Product Attributes, Consumer decision trees, Supply Chain, Custom-defined Trade areas, etc. This knowledge is used to support the pricing analysis function. Possesses mastery of management principles, practices, concepts, and a wide range of analytical, quantitative and statistical techniques and tools. This knowledge is used to conduct wide ranging business studies and interpretation of retail pricing data and processes and to derive pricing insights from large, complex data environments. Possesses knowledge and working experience in, identifying and evaluating retail grocery pricing opportunities, and knowledge of the various retail performance levers. Ability to model economics and analyze sensitivity and ability to model markdowns, discounts, and other conditions related to retail pricing strategies.
